Lagos Boatyard History

Neboeiro in Fattu-Hiba (Class Delfin designed by Alfredo Lagos)Astilleros Lagos was founded in 1915 by Fernando Lagos Carsi,. He was born in Vigo in 1889. He studied in London from the age of 11  and graduated as Mechanical and Electrical Engineer from King's College and University of London, and then as Naval Architect from the Royal Technical College of Glasgow. In Glasgow he worked in the tehnical office of the renowned Shipyard John Brown.
Before the start of World War I, he came back to Vigo, where he started to build runabouts and small motor boats. Lagos Boatyard had just been born.
